This modernization is a step towards Telenor becoming a preferred partner in the digital journey of its customers and at the same time ensuring delivery of relevant service to make their “Life Full, Paisa Vasool” (Maximum Value).
The solution implementation is set to extend benefits of affordable mobile connectivity to mass market customers to ride the wave of digitization trends that are empowering people and communities globally. From over 26% internet users currently on its network, Telenor India has set a target of bringing 50% of its users to mobile Internet by 2017. The spectral and energy efficiency will set a new benchmark and will result not only in cost savings but will also make internet access affordable.
Small Bandwidth LTE and Lean GSM will take mobile broadband to a wider base of customers. This will help in extending the benefits of data services and enable a digital lifestyle for everyone. The affordability factor is attractive for India where ARPUs are still below $2 and nearly 70% of the population is not connected to the internet. Such solutions will help fulfill Telenor’s ambition of achieving of “Internet for All” without compromising the quality of service.
