Mr. Chandan is one of the pioneers of telecom revolution in India. He has been a key-player in bringing CDMA technology in India and making it commercially launched. Dr. Abul Kalam and Mr. Chandan were instrumental in the privatization of Internet in India. Recognising his contribution to the field of Electrical Engineering, the award of “Outstanding engineer” for the year 2004 was conferred on Mr. Chandan by Delhi International Branch of the Institution of Electrical Engineers (U.K.). Mr. Rajan Mathews

Director General of the industry association body – Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) representing the GSM-based service providers in India. Mr. Mathews brings along a rich knowledge of finance and administration along with his extensive experience in the Indian telecom industry. He has been associated with various telecom firms in India as well as abroad.

Most recently Mr. Mathews was the COO of US operations and Corporate CFO and V.P. of Telargo, where he oversaw the company’s US operations and financial, accounting, treasury, tax, administrative and HR functions. He has also served as President of Telephone Systems International and V.P. and CFO of Call Sciences Inc and held various senior executive positions with AT&T wireless. Earlier, he also had a stint with the research firm Pricewaterhouse Coopers as a senior consultant. He earned both his Master of Business Administration (Finance & Accounting) and Master of Arts (Economics) degrees from Rutgers University (USA) and he is a CPA from the State of New Jersey, USA.

Mr. Hemant Joshi

Mr Joshi is a Partner in Deloitte Haskins and Sells (DHS), India. He is the TMT India Leader. His clients are spread across industries like – telecom, technology, engineering and automobiles. He has more than 25 years of experience in Assurance and Accounting Services and includes international experience in the Middle East and the USA. Mr Joshi has extensive public company audit experience and has, over the years, served as audit partner on some of India’s – and the worlds – largest and most reputed companies. He has successfully led the IPO of one of the India’s largest mobile service provider. He currently serves reputed listed / multinational telecommunication, information technology and manufacturing companies.

Mr Joshi has published several articles, thought papers on telecom in leading magazines and newsletters. Under his leadership, Deloitte has been strategic knowledge partner for several institutes in telecom domain. Currently, he is responsible for running the Accountancy page of Hindu Business Line on behalf of Deloitte; which is now appearing for the last one year on monthly basis.

Dr. Sougata Mukherjea

Mr Sougata Mukherjea leads the Telecom & Mobile Research department in IBM India Research Lab. His research interests include Middleware technologies and its applications to Telecom, Analytics and Visualization. He has several patents as well as multiple publications in reputed Computer Science conferences and journals in these research areas. His group has developed many innovative technologies in the Telecom and Mobile domain some of which have been integrated into IBM products or licensed to customers. Sougata received his Ph.D. from Georgia Institute of Technology, USA in Computer Science. Prior to joining IBM Mr Mukherjea worked in Research & Development for several companies in the Silicon Valley (California) including NEC Research, Inktomi and BEA Systems.

Mr. Narayanan Madhavan

Dr.Jhunjhunwala received his B.Tech degree from IIT, Kanpur, and his MS and Ph.D degrees from the University of Maine. From 1979 to 1981, he was with Washington State University as Assistant Professor. Since 1981, he has been teaching at IIT, Madras, where he leads the Telecommunications and Computer Networks group (TeNeT). This group works with industry in the development of technologies relevant to India. It has incubated over 35 companies in the last twenty years. He chairs Rural Technology and Business Incubator (RTBI) at IIT Madras and Mobile Payment Forum of India (MPFI).

Mr. Arunkumar NT

Mr. Arunkumar a Special Representative of CM of Andhra Pradesh’s mission on FinTech & Digital. Formerly Managing Director of UBS AG’s Group Corporate Services and serves on the Board of Directors in UBS India. He had led the global delivery for ODCs and also has regional responsibilities in APAC for risk management and controls for outsourcing & offshoring. In Citibank, where he started his career in the early ’90’s, he led as Senior VP of Technology for product development and offshoring services. His technology stints also include his role as GM in PepsiCo, supporting a rapidly growing business in South Asia, and CIO for D&B’s South Asia, Middle-East & Africa markets.

Mr. Arun is a management graduate from XLRI Jamshedpur, a leading business school in India. Keenly interested in social development, he founded and manages a philanthropic trust that supports education for underprivileged children. A passionate advocate of industry-academia collaboration, he teaches management & research students in leading Universities in India. His interests range from Strategy, Innovation and Financial Technologies to Behavioral sciences.

Commodore Dr. J Jena

Deputy Director General in Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI). He had been the main architect for creation of 08 Telecom Centres of Excellence (TCOE) in Public Private Partnership mode for Industry led research in IITs and IIM with the support of Telecom Operators and Department of Telecom; and had managed these centres as Director of TCOE India for over eight years. He was also the promoter and founding Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Telecom Sector Skill Council that works towards adequate availability of skilled manpower to boost growth of telecom sector. He has substantial contribution in development of the Indian telecom ecosystem and has to his credit formation of 17 Start-Ups.

Dr. Jena holds a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engg, Three Master degrees – one each in Telecommunications (IIT Kgp), International Business (Symbiosis) and Defence Strategy (Madras University) – and a PhD from IIT Delhi on Smartphone Manufacturing Ecosystem.

He had three decades of rich experience in Indian Defence in the field of R&D, Policy Making, Project Management and Indigenous Development of Electronics, Communication &; Weapon Systems before stepping into the Telecom sector.

Dr. Manish Gupta

Dr. Manish Gupta is a co-founder and CEO of VideoKen, an educational technology startup, and the Infosys Foundation Chair Professor at IIIT Bangalore. Previously, Mr Gupta has served as Vice President and Director of Xerox Research Centre India, and has held various leadership positions with IBM, including that of Director, IBM Research – India and Chief Technologist, IBM India/South Asia. As a Senior Manager at the IBM T.J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, New York, Manish he led the team developing system software for the Blue Gene/L supercomputer. IBM was awarded a National Medal of Technology and Innovation for Blue Gene by US President Barack Obama in 2009.

Mr Gupta holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. He has co-authored about 75 papers, with more than 6,000 citations in Google Scholar (and an h-index of 42) in the areas of high-performance computing, compilers, and virtual machine optimizations, and has been granted 19 US patents. While at IBM, Manish received an Outstanding Innovation Award, two Outstanding Technical Achievement Awards and the Lou Gerstner Team Award for Client Excellence. Manish is currently serving as the chair of IKDD, the ACM India Special Interest Group on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining, and was General Co-Chair for IKDD Conference on Data Sciences 2015. He is an ACM Fellow, a Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering, and a recipient of a Distinguished Alumnus Award from IIT Delhi.

The trend of modern telecommunication services is towards greater mobility with ever increasing data speeds. This has put greater demands/ pressures on the already limited and scarce RF spectrum resource. With 40 years of experience, working as an international expert in improving the optimal use of the scarce resource of RF spectrum.

Mr Narinder Chhibber is an Engineering graduate and has worked for 32 years in Indian Air Force as Aeronautical / Communications Engineer. He was Chief Systems Engineer, in the rank of Air Commodore, responsible for setting up radar and communications networks for Air Defense.

After privatization of telecom services sector in India, he worked in the corporate telecommunication industry for setting up telecom services networks.

He is Secretary General, Pacific Telecommunications Council India Foundation, a country chapter of Pacific Telecommunications Council, Hawaii, USA. He is also President, Telescan Global Connect, an organization involved in Research and Development of telecommunication services for masses in South Asian developing economies. He is a jury member of US based International Community Forum (ICF), dedicated to the economic growth of the broadband economy for communities in the world.

Prof. Ewout Schaft

Prof. Ewout van der Schaft is Associate Professor of Practice at the IBSS School of Business, XJTLU University. Previous, from 2008-2013, Mr Schaft served as Dean Executive Education at the Aegis School Business in Mumbai (India) and as Assistant Dean at the CEU Business School in Budapest (Hungary).

Before moving to Academics, Mr Schaft obtained extensive international experience from senior business roles all around Europe. From 1995 till 2008, Mr Schaft worked in executive positions for two leading European Telecommunications incumbents, Czech Telecom and Bulgarian Telecom. After having started in the field of Human Resources, he led the transformation of Czech Telecom and the start-up of their B2B electronic marketplace. In his last position, as Executive Director Business Development, he was responsible for partner management, strategic alliances and acquisitions. As Head of the PMO in Bulgarian Telecom, he prepared the company for their sell off by leading 24 key transformation projects. Mr Schaft started his international career for Philip Morris in The Netherlands. He holds an MBA of the Katz Graduate school of Business Pittsburgh, and graduated as a Master of Public Administration at the University of Leiden in the Netherlands.

Mr. Mahesh Vaidya

Mr Mahesh Vaidya joined Intel Capital in 2008 to invest in opportunities in India and has been able to deploy capital in a carefully selected and concentrated portfolio. In spite of the challenging environment for portfolio liquidity, Mr Vaidya has been able to drive liquidity events for Intel Capital in the form of exits such as Policybazaar, the leading online site in India for the comparison and purchase of insurance policies. His other investments at Intel Capital include Snapdeal, the leading online marketplace in India. He has also worked with Intel Capital in Silicon Valley and was focused on opportunities in the cloud infrastructure and Big Data sectors. In that period, he led Intel Capital’s investment in Talena, a “big data” management company, and also participated in an investment in ElasticBox, a cloud application management company that was subsequently acquired by CenturyLink.

Mr Vaidya began his investment career as an MBA Intern in the International Finance Corporation’s Internet Development Unit, where he performed valuation analysis, researched regulatory issues, assisted in term sheet negotiations, and evaluated numerous business proposals ranging from a coffee exchange in Colombia to an Internet service provider in Estonia. After attending business school, Mr Vaidya began working with GF Private Equity Group, a component company of the Southern Ute Indian Tribe’s Growth Fund, where he was part of the founding team for the private equity investment program. Since its formation, GF Private Equity Group has been able to grow AUM to over USD 500 million and has had multiple successful realizations. At GF Private Equity Group, he sourced and led investments in companies such as Redline Communications Inc. (IPO on TSX), Adamas Pharmaceuticals (IPO on Nasdaq), and Venda (Acquired by NetSuite).

Earlier in his career, Mr Vaidya had worked as a Software Engineer with Citicorp Overseas Software Ltd. and has wide-ranging experience in the information technology services industry. He has worked for companies in the financial services and enterprise software sectors in India, Japan, SEOUL, and the United States.

He received his MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and has a Graduate degree in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology at Kanpur, India.

Mr. Dilip was the CII spokesperson and coordinated CII’s international work relating to the ASEAN.  Prior to his last assignment in CII, Mr. Dilip was part of an India team working on the competitiveness of Indian industry with Professor Michael Porter, Harvard Business School.

Prior to this, he led the setup of NICE in Pune and built the India R&D centre of 500+ engineers in 17 months delivering innovation in Large-Scale Analytics Platforms.

He worked at Reliance Jio as Vice President & Head of Big Data Analytics & Advertising Business, leading end-to-end analytics and built new age Monetization techniques that deliver value to advertisers and users.

For 13yrs he worked at Microsoft in various roles in USA, Hyderabad and Bangalore, leading large global R&D teams delivering very large scale engineering products like Outlook, OWA, Bing, Hotmail, Advertising, Analytics, that enable billions of people across the globe to realize their full potential.

He is Educationist and recognized a leader in the field of Analytics, Advertising, User Experience, Product Management & Digital Transformation community. He frequently speaks at international conferences, business schools & engineering colleges including IITs, IIMs, NITs, BITS Pilani, Somaiya and several other places.

He has authored and published 2 books in USA (Delivering Successful Projects & Web Performance Improvement) and working on his 3rd book (Applied Analytics).

Mr Shrikrishna Sumant has got 38 years+ experience in the Internal Auditing of the Manufacturing and IT Industry. The audit areas include Systems, Finance, Materials, Production, Marketing, Logistics, Supplier Chain management. Also he was involved in Risk Assessment Initiatives & fraud investigations. Prior to joining Deloitte, he was part of internal audit department of one of the largest automobile manufacturers in India (Tata Motors Ltd) for more than 30 years. During this tenure, he has handled various complex internal audit assignments and has added significant value to the operations of the Company.

Dr Sanjay Sinvhal has 30+ years of experience (including 11 Yrs in India Air Force in Microwave Comm as SSC officer) in Wireless technologies like M2M / IoT, WiFi, WiMAX, CDMA, GSM, Microwave, UHF/VHF, Infrastructure security, safety as in Smart cities, Broadband NW Planning etc. in different roles such as Practice Head, BU Head, Delivery Head etc.

Dr Sanjay has worked with various companies like TCS, Wipro, Tata Teleservices, Tata Infotech, Comverse NWs, Nelco, Hinduja Group apart from his Air Force service. Currently he is working with Aegis School of Business, Data Science, Cyber Security & Telecom as VP- Consulting and Alliances.

He has done his PhD from Mumbai Univ in Management (Thesis on Study of Customer Experience in mobile telecom networks and its impact on Operator’s financials). He has done his BE & ME in Electronics & Power engg from VNIT Nagpur. He has also done ICWA (I), MDBA (Finance) and Full time Six months On Campus Certificate Course in General Management at IIM, Ahmedabad. Dr Sanjay has acquired PG Diploma in Big Data and Business Analytics from Aegis School of Business, Data Science, Cyber Security & Telecom in 2017.
