Mumbai 13, 2017: Currently the world’s second largest telecommunication market, the Indian mobile economy is growing rapidly and contributing majorly to India’s GDP. The Indian Telecom sector is also generating millions of direct and indirect jobs as a result of rapid increase in the smartphones sales and rising internet usage.

Amidst these changes in the market, Ramboll has presented an innovation ‘Tubular Towers’ at the Aegis Graham Bell Award Jury Round under the ‘Innovative Telecom Product/Solution’ category. With Ramboll’s Tubular Profile tower, the use of tower structural steel and foundation is 20 ~ 30% less than legacy towers. Rapid deployment of newer infrastructure to cater for the growing demand also means an increase in the CO2 emissions, negatively affecting the environment. Ramboll’s tubular profile tower requires less material than a legacy tower thereby significantly reducing the CO2 emissions. The team from Ramboll also presented their camouflage portfolio, which enhances the aesthetics of the surroundings apart from being highly functional.

“Ramboll’s design philosophy is well known in the global telecommunications industry. With a constant focus on reducing the total site costs for our clients, our towers are optimised with regards to minimising wind loads, foundations, logistics and installation time. Our endeavour to continuously be at the forefront of innovation has led to the design of the tubular tower. Our camouflaging designs are also widely appreciated, we specialise in providing aesthetically pleasing structures with efficient functionality. Our designs are innovative, sustainable and also client-friendly.

At Ramboll, we are truly client-centric, our services are customised to suit our clients’ requirements. An association with a prestigious forum, like the Graham Bell Awards, will only enhance the trust that our clients have in us and is also a testament to the quality of services and expertise we have. This forum has given us the opportunity to network with like-minded professionals, enabling a lot of knowledge sharing. Associations like these help us learn things beyond what we see every day, and it has been a great experience for me and my team. Continuous innovation is at the forefront of what we do at Ramboll, and this is the perfect platform for us to see the innovation our peers have come up with, that will enable us to think in new directions.” – Mr Pankaj Sachdeva, Director – Telecom, Ramboll India.
