New Delhi, 23rd February 2018: Accenture was announced as a winner in “Mobile App for Social Good” category for its artificial intelligence-powered innovation “Drishti” at the Aegis Graham Bell Awards 2017 event, honoring the best innovations in the ICT domain in India. Accenture received the recognition at the 8th edition of Aegis Graham Bell Awards at NDMC Convention Center, New Delhi.
Aegis Graham Bell has been promoting innovations and entrepreneurship in Telecom, Data Science, Smart City Solution, Cyber Security, Digital India, Cloud and Mobility. Technologies like artificial intelligence can play a lead role in augmenting humans, and Drishti is a solution where AI is helping visually challenged people lead an empowered life. Developed by Accenture Labs, Drishti provides smart phone-based assistance using AI technologies such as image recognition, natural language processing and natural language generation capabilities to describe the environment of visually impaired persons, helping them experience the world around them and be more productive in the workplace.
